Hi, I’m Linda Dessau.

I’ve been exploring creativity for many years, from my beginnings writing stories and tracing pictures, singing in choirs, and playing piano; to degrees in music and music therapy, and a music therapy practice; to self-care coaching for creatives as a certified life coach.

In 2005, I returned to my love for the written word and began assisting rising authors in their publishing journeys. Since then, I’ve been helping clients get their books and other projects in front of readers through Content Mastery Guide, now rebranded as LD Editorial.

LD Editorial offers line editing and copy editing for nonfiction books, especially memoirs and self-help books. I am a member of Editors Canada, the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), and ACES: The Society for Editing.

I’ve completed courses in copy editing (Simon Fraser University), stylistic/line editing (Simon Fraser University and the EFA), and memoir editing (EFA and Club Ed), and I continually pursue professional development opportunities through Editors Canada, the EFA, ACES, Club Ed, and more.

I live and work in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg people, which include the Odawa, Ojibwe, and Pottawatomi Nations collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy. Barrie also acknowledges the Wendat Nation (Huron) who occupied these lands prior to the middle of the 17th century.

When I’m not working, I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, taking road trips and walks with my husband and my retired racing greyhound Fifty, and of course reading—lots and lots of reading.
